My Story
“Empathy with a posture of humility will do more healing work than judgment or confrontation.” – Dr. Selin Philip
Hi, I’m Brenna.
Starting therapy can feel intimidating—especially if you’re used to holding everything together or minimizing what you’re going through. My hope is to offer a calm, supportive space where you feel safe enough to show up honestly, feel understood, and begin making sense of what you’re carrying.
My approach to therapy is relational, thoughtful, and collaborative. I believe meaningful change happens when people feel seen and respected. I value warmth and authenticity in the therapy room, and I often use humor when it’s helpful, while also being direct and honest when clarity and change are needed.
We might be a good fit if…
-
You’re a young adult who feels overwhelmed, behind, or unsure of your next steps
-
You identify as a highly sensitive person and feel emotions deeply, think a lot, or tend to be hard on yourself
-
You’re navigating fertility or infertility-related stress, including grief, uncertainty, waiting, or loss of control
-
You’re struggling with anxiety, depression, self-esteem concerns, or major life transitions
-
You want a therapist who offers compassion and understanding, while also gently challenging patterns that no longer serve you
I work with teens (15+), young adults, and adults, and I offer both in-person and telehealth sessions.
I have a particular heart for working with highly sensitive people. As a highly sensitive person myself, I understand how overwhelming the world can feel at times and how easily sensitivity can turn into self-criticism. In therapy, we work to honor that sensitivity while also building grounding, confidence, and self-trust.
I also aim to support individuals experiencing fertility and infertility-related challenges. My interest in this work is shaped by personal experience, and I approach this space with deep empathy, care, and respect. While walking through my own journey, I realized that not many therapists were aware of the grief and heartache that comes in the waiting, and knew that I wanted to eventually work to be a safe space for people walking that same path. While I am actively pursuing specialized training in fertility and infertility counseling, I believe it’s important to meet this work with humility and to continue learning as I support clients through this tender season.
Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy spending time with my husband, son and friends, playing board games, trying new foods and restaurants, and going on walks with my dog, Scout.
I look forward to working alongside you, please feel free to reach out to me via the email listed below if you have any questions or would like to set up a time for a short phone call to assess if we would be a good fit or not. I am also happy to help by offering referrals to other counselors if we decide we are not a good fit.
